As a leader in computer game education, the School of Computing at the University of Teesside is delighted to host the 3rd annual Women in Games Conference on the 10-11th July 2006.
Now entering its third year the Women in Games conference features participants from both the academic and the creative and industrial communities. Through this annual event we aim to disseminate the most recent, groundbreaking work into games (past, present and future), especially (but not exclusively) with reference to the experience of women playing, developing and responding to games and game culture.
Key speakers include:
Kyle Machulis - Head of the Nonpolynomial Network, founder of Slashdong (the teledildonics/sex tech blog), and co-founder of MMOrgy.
Kyle will be delivering a talk authored by Brenda Brathwaite on Sex in Games
Deborah Tillet - President - BreakAwayGames, Ltd.
Deborah will be speaking about quality of life in the industry and how it takes more than just money to motivate employees.
The conference will also provide networking opportunities for those within the industry as well as providing support for researchers and developers who are exploring and redressing the game industry's gender imbalance.
The conference website and booking information is at www.womeningames.com.
